NEUE celebrates its round anniversary with numerous guests of honor
Despite the bathing weather and Father’s Day, quite a few readers took advantage of the 50th anniversary of NEUE Vorarlberger Tageszeitung and the 15th anniversary of NEUE am Sonntag as its own brand to visit the big party in front of and in the media building in Schwarzach.
Numerous guests of honor
Governor Markus Wallner personally conveyed his congratulations and emphasized the importance of NEUE for the diversity of opinion in the state. NEUE am Sonntag is a fixed part of his weekend reading. Managing Director Markus Raith and Editor-in-Chief Moritz Moser were pleased to welcome ORF Regional Director Markus Clement, President of the Chamber of Commerce Wilfried Hopfner and VN Editor-in-Chief Gerold Riedmann, among others. Andreas Neuhauser, head of the communications department of Illwerke vkw, did not miss a visit to the marquee, as did Fohrenburger managing director Wolfgang Sila, Lustenau mayor Kurt Fischer and Martin Fenkart, who appeared as head of the pastoral office of the diocese of Feldkirch representing the bishop. Among the guests of honor was also the former NEUE editor-in-chief Sebastian Rauch, now head of the communications department of the provincial capital Bregenz.
Guided tours in great demand
Presenter Heike Montiperle guided the guests through the day. The Bürgermusik Schwarzach, singer and guitarist Mike Live and DJay Rome provided the musical accompaniment to the anniversary celebration.
The quarter-hourly guided tours through the media house were particularly popular with the visitors, during which the interested public could visit the printing plant as well as the Antenne Vorarlberg studio and get to know the production and work processes there. The employees explained the current difficulties in supplying paper and printing plates due to the war, explained the cutting and folding of the newspaper, or demonstrated how a radio studio works. Several guests were then able to enjoy the beautiful prizes they had received in the raffle draw.
A time capsule with historical front pages and reports of NEUE allowed the interested audience to take a look into the newspaper’s past. On the future of NEUE, Managing Director Raith explained the digitization strategy and the further development of the brand. Editor-in-Chief Moser emphasized the high quality of reporting and the importance of NEUE Vorarlberger Tageszeitung as a critical medium in the state.
