Daily Newspapers: Our roots are in the print business.
Employees work exclusively in the digital area.
Our regional core competencies include the development, implementation and marketing of media and media-related services. The focus on the segments of a market which have been clearly defined both regionally and thematically has made us successful. In all activities, the needs of our readers and customers take centre stage. As a result, Russmedia also has garnered an impressive list of achievement: 9 out of 10 Vorarlberg residents get their daily information from Russmedia (a record in Austria), two daily newspapers and six weekly newspapers are produced, and we operate over 40 online portals & apps that are accessed 115 million times a month. VOLmobil was the first regional mobile operator in Austria and VOL.AT is the most visited regional portal in Europe in relation to the population. Since 2021 the premium articles of VORARLBERGER NACHRICHTEN, NEUE and VOL.AT are available in the joint subscription V+.
The growth-oriented digital business will continue to be fueled by Russmedia Equity Partners Est., headquartered in Schaan, Liechtenstein. The group is investing 100 million euros to further increase its business. Contributions such as Europe’s largest independent ski rental Alpinresorts (Bratislava and Vienna), Europe’s largest rental portal Erento (Berlin), the German classifieds portal Quoka.de, the Hungarian job portal CVOnline.hu and the classified ad portal Publi24.ro are assigned to the Russmedia Digital Holding. The focus is on digital growth: Marketing & advertising activities are clustered in the Digital Holding in order to significantly increase the commitment to digital marketplaces and to grow internationally. Together with Speedinvest, Europe’s successful early-stage venture fund, Russmedia has launched a special investment fund focused on international marketplaces.

Founder Russmedia
Having already been recognised as one of Austria’s best employers in 2018 and 2020, Russmedia once again received the ‘Great Place to Work’ award in 2024 (Great Place to Work, category 500+ employees). In addition to the first award in 2018, the company also received a special award for ‘Lifelong Learning’: The internal Russmedia Academy offers more than 50 free training and development programmes. Editors and media consultants are trained in cross-media trainee programmes.
Infotainment in the truest sense of the word: the intranet, internal newsletter and regular events (Russmedia Inside, team events such as pizza meetings, breakfast with the management, quarterly meetings, etc.) keep all employees informed about new activities, successes, investments and strategic measures, as well as collecting feedback and questions from employees. Ready to climb the career ladder? New and young employees are also given the opportunity to take on more responsibility and demonstrate leadership skills. Internships in other locations are also available. Flexible time management and trust-based working hours are standard.
Our workplaces are based on international examples with modern working environments: open-plan offices, various meeting and communication islands from shingle look to graffiti wall, lounge corners, Starbucks café, pond with garden lounge and much more.
